Random pictures

Even though I don't have access to the "nice" camera, mom took some pictures with her cell phone camera. Here they are!
Can you believe they are so cheap that they cram me into the same crate as the big oaf at the dog shows???Here we are relaxing on my couch...this couch definitely was not big enough for both of us!

Here's mom with her Pumpkin Trek Cruiser before she traded it in.

Sorry about the delay

Hello fellow poodle ponderers,
I apologize for the delay, but I have been looking throughout the house for the darn camera. I finally made the connection; I saw "mommy" (definition: term used to define mom's(aka Michelle) mom- used since a was a puppy and it has stuck) put it in her suitcase. She has not been around for a while, so I am assuming she has it with her. Anyways, a lot has happened since my last posting.  Since I am devilishly smart (and handsome), I shall break it down into categories for you all.

Dog Shows:
Since I have last blogged, I have been dragged along to two other weekend dog shows. One was in Jacksonville where Trek earned two third places, 2 otch points and the highest scoring non-sporting dog. Then two weekends later we took a long car ride up to see our cousins, Fozzy and Gizmo. Melissa and Tom (Michelle's sister and brother-in-law) were happy to see me, as well as my chauffeur and other traveling companion. Man, I forgot how tedious stairs were; our current Florida home only has three stairs leading into the house. Trek did well at the show despite NQ'ing in his Utility class (I don't blame him, I would never retrieve a metal article from a dirt floor...how unsanitary). He won a runoff for highest scoring dog and this resulted in his first ALL BREED high in trial. With all the hulabaloo, I was pooped and slept the rest of the day. We were supposed to show the next day, but Trek was really sore, so mom decided not to go. Thanks goodness because showing in a dirt arena with wind blowing around is not my idea of a good time.  Trek is laying low on shows for a while due to some pain issues, but he is currently getting some experimental treatment and already results look promising after only two treatments.

Car:
Mom decided to get a new car because her PT Cruiser (aka Poodle Transport or Pumpkin Trek Cruiser) was getting old and the air conditioning stopped working. I tried to convince her to just stick her head out the window to get cool, but I guess she's even pickier about her hair than us poodles. She got a nice and roomy car called a Scion XB; we took a ride in it and it definitely caters to my needs. I think it has an even bigger back seat for me. How wonderful!!

Mom's job:
Mom just found out that she is the new kid librarian at her library. She was especially excited the other day because she told us that she was going to bring in READ or Reading Education Assistance Dogs. And she got the go ahead from her boss to bring one or both of us in to promote the upcoming National Puppy Day Program in March.

Ummmm...I think that brings us up to date for now. I will try to keep more current with events. What can I say...I'm at least 84 in dog years....definitely not bad for a senior.

Hello World!

Hi everyone,

This is Pumpkin...a handsome red miniature poodle, if I don't say so myself. I live with my mom and my brother in Florida; the sun is much warmer here than in Illinois. My brother's name is Trek, he's a silver standard poodle and not quite as devilishly handsome as me. Everyone seems to think that he's smarter because he wins all these obedience ribbons and such, but what they don't know is that is I'm smarter because I won't fall for those stupid human tricks. Anyways, here I am with my mom trying to embarass me.

Trek is on the left...let me see if I can find a picture of him on this computer. Ah here we go,

Trek told me to say that he says "hello!"

Well, I keep everyone updated. Mom said we're going to a place called Jacksonville tomorrow night. Another one of Trek's shows...it's great he works a lot and I just lay in the crate taking in the sights and we both get cookies. Life is good.
